American Citizens Abroad (“ACA”) is a fantastic organization. ACA is currently carrying a lobbying and education campaign. The purpose appears to be two-fold:
1. To educate U.S. expats about their tax obligations and to warn them about FBAR and FATCA; and
2. To lobby Congress for the benefit of U.S. expats.
They recently did a radio interview in Switzerland. This is the best discussion of the effects of FATCA that I have encountered. I urge you to listen to this interview. Forward this interview about FATCA to every U.S. expat you know.
